The role you’ll contribute:
Professional nurse who provides leadership in the development of staff education at the unit level in compliance with regulatory agencies in conjunction with the hospital mission, management and physician expectation. The educator combines clinical expertise and passion for teaching in both the classroom and practice setting, preparing and mentoring current and future generations of nurses. The Nurse educator plays a pivotal role in strengthening the nursing workforce, serving as a role model and providing the leadership needed to implement evidence-based practice.

Designing curricula
Developing courses/programs of study
Teaching and guiding learners
Evaluating learning
Incorporates principles of adult learning in planning, implementation, and evaluation of education programs
Plans, prepares, and maintains materials for use in educational programs for accuracy and relevance to the target audience Adheres to attendance standards when teaching/facilitating a class ensuring set up is completed prior to class start
Assists with students and practicing nurses to identify their learning needs, strengths and opportunities and develop learning activities to grow skill set based on learning needs
Coordinates orientation of new staff including agency into the organization
Develops/coordinates education plans related to initial and ongoing competency validation
Develops/coordinates core education to address patient population specific nursing care
Develops/coordinates content for learning opportunities based on evidenced based practice
Develops/coordinates core education for the development of bedside leaders
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Master's Degree in Nursing with 5 years of in-patient nursing experience
1 year education experience in acute care or academic setting
Current Florida RN License
ACLS & BLS certifications
