Sign on Bonus of $5,000 available for external candidates.General Position Summary: Join our dynamic team of Brief Therapist Team as we apply solution-focused techniques to address symptoms of depression or anxiety, and trauma-recovery in our clients. Our Therapist help clients create a personalized journey towards recovery and wellness. Our Brief teams provide individualized, person-centered clinical therapy services for a maximum of 6 months. Applicants with knowledge of and experience utilizing Brief Therapy techniques are preferred. This position has Supervision towards Licensure if needed. . Knowledge and Skills Needed Therapists at Greater Lakes Mental Health Care need a working knowledge and understanding of mental disorders.
A thorough understanding of and commitment to the recovery model, including familiarity with the DSM-V and competency in accurate diagnoses.
Our therapists also need the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a managed care environment. Knowledge of the major components of a mental status examination and competency in performing on-going assessments.
Ability to implement a continuum of care for client based on client need and a level of functioning ability to develop and implement recovery plans.
A basic knowledge of psychotropic medications along with the ability to recognize side-effects.
Sound clinical skills and a high degree of professionalism.
A basic awareness of substance abuse/dependence issues.
A thorough knowledge of community resources and the ability to develop appropriate links for clients.
Well-developed skills in managing time, priorities, and paperwork. Responsibilities
Use effective clinical skills to assure appropriate client-centered care.
Complete all clinical and administrative documentation in a timely, accurate manner.
Completes initial clinical assessments and intakes (if applicable).
Completes thorough risk assessments.
Recognizes clinical indicators of a crisis and refers as necessary to immediate crisis resources.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all agency policies. QualificationsMaster's degree in a mental health related field Must be a recognized Mental Health Professional as defined in WAC 246-341-0200/RCW 71.05.020. Must be eligible for an associate's credential with the Washington State Department of Health
Through knowledge of clinical pathology and a broad range of psychosocial assessment and treatment approaches for individuals with emotional/behavioral symptoms of a mental health diagnosis
Proficiency using the current DSM manual and in making accurate diagnoses
Knowledge of community resources
Knowledge of and experience in using CBT, Solution Focused and Brief Therapy Techniques
Knowledge of recovery-oriented and trauma informed values
Knowledge of and experience in using Motivational Interviewing preferred
Experience working with the publicly-funded mental health system preferred
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
