With a Level II Trauma Emergency Department, advanced robotic surgery technologies and a focus on compassionate care, Sinai-Grace draws on the history of three community hospitals and has served Northwest Detroit for more than 130 years.
Directs the personnel, operational and financial activities of the Sinai-Grace Hospital Respiratory/Pulmonary Department including the following Labs: Blood Gas, Pulmonary Function, EEG, EMG and Sleep. Identifies the need for policy development and/or revision, defines policies in collaboration with higher level management input, goals and objectives. Participates in the development and/or revision of department procedures/protocols within Respiratory/Pulmonary Services. Develops, monitors and revises Respiratory Care processes. Provides input into the development and revision of organizational structure of Respiratory/Pulmonary Services. Approves personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Ensures the timely completion of performance appraisals. Develops current to intermediate goals and measures for Respiratory/Pulmonary Services as appropriate. Measures and assesses performance. As requested, assists in development of and monitors budget for Respiratory/Pulmonary Service. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.
1. Bachelor of Science degree, in a related technical or administrative discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Three to five years progressively more responsible experience in healthcare management.
3. Two to three years management experience in Respiratory Care desirable.
4. Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care with licensure to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
5. BLS certification required.
