Full Time Genetic Counselor Position Available ( Remote Counseling)

GeneScreen is an independent telegenetics company based in Bernardsville New Jersey. GeneScreen provides unbiased and comprehensive counseling to its patients in order to facilitate informed decision making and optimal health care outcomes.

GeneScreen is mainly involved in providing genetic counseling for: Preconception for fertility patients, single gene preimplantation genetic diagnosis in individuals who are referred due to carrier status/personal history, Screening of Egg Donors, individuals using donor sperm, individuals using donor eggs, prenatal screening and testing results and hereditary cancer syndromes.

Current posting is for remote counseling.

Position Description:

A full-time genetic counselor, preferred hours are 11 am to 7 pm EST

Summary of Duties

Provide genetic counseling for patients who are undergoing fertility treatment.

Review family history, personal history and recommended carrier screening for all patients.

Coordinate egg donor genetic testing and recommend additional testing based on history.

Review egg donor/sperm donor genetic testing and personal and family histories with recipients.

Coordinate genetic testing for family members of individuals undergoing single gene preimplantation genetic diagnosis.

Review the process of single gene preimplantation genetic diagnosis with patients along with follow up about the finalized single gene probes created.

Discuss hereditary cancer genetic testing and recommend testing based on personal and family history.

Write final consult reports to summarize patient family history, personal history and genetic testing results.

Preform Pre and post test genetic counseling for hereditary cancer testing.

Provide genetic counseling for prenatal patients referred for abnormal amniocentesis results, advanced maternal age and/or discussion of screening during pregnancy.
