Excellent opportunity to join a well-established university-based cancer genetics program. Our multidisciplinary team consists of oncologists, surgeons (breast, GI, gyn/onc, endocrine), gastroenterologists, and the director who is boarded in genetic counseling and medical genetics. The Penn State Cancer Genetics Program receives 1,000 new patient referrals per year with a wide variety of hereditary cancer indications.
Provide clinical cancer genetic counseling services
Participate in tumor boards on weekly/monthly basis
Assist with oversight of universal screening program
Educate the lay public and referring providers regarding clinical cancer genetics
Teach Hematology/Oncology and Endocrine fellows during cancer genetics rotation
Opportunity to lead a hereditary cancer support group
Master's degree from an American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) accredited training program
Board certified / Board eligible by the American Board of Medical Genetics or the American Board of Genetic Counseling
Genetic counseling licensure as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
The ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Both experienced counselors and new graduates will be considered.
