Cedars Sinai in Los Angeles, California has exclusively engaged Cejka Executive Search to assist in the recruitment of a critical physician leadership role: Medical Director, Physician Advisor and Case Management Programs. The Medical Director plays an active role in supporting the strategic plans and vision of Cedars Sinai by promoting resource stewardship, facilitate safe and timely discharge and transitions of care and enhance the value of services.
A multi-faceted position, the Medical Director will contribute to Cedars-Sinai’s strategic initiatives by identifying trends in patient treatment data, proactively developing programs, and working closely with a variety of constituents to drive change. The Medical Director will provide mentorship and leadership to Physician Advisors and staff, serve as an individual contributor of physician advisor services, and co-manage the utilization management and case management activities. As a clinical advisor and educator, the Medical Director will drive change to improve clinical quality and efficacy of patient care, enhance the value of services and reduce unnecessary cost. A visible role, the Medical Director reports to the Vice President of Clinical Transformation and the Vice President of Revenue Cycle Management. This position works closely with the Vice Presidents and the Academic Department Chairs (or their designees) and the Departments of Medicine and Surgery, the High Value Care Committee, medical staff leadership, physicians and staff across the hospital. The Medical Director also serves as the Co-Director of the Clinical Documentation Improvement Program.

Ideal candidates will be progressive physician leaders with hospital-based experience in improving efficiency, driving quality outcomes and financial performance and overseeing complex medical review activities. Demonstrated experience in improving Length-Of-Stay, discharge planning, care transitions, appropriate utilization of resources and current knowledge of CMS guidelines and reimbursement trends is required. Board certification and an unrestricted medical license are required. Prior supervisory and mentorship experience is required.
