Mental Health Aides are direct care workers who are directly responsible for the supervision and care with regard to all activities of daily living for adolescent males diagnosed with an intellectual disability as well as a mental health illness. Staff are responsible for the personal care of the young men that we serve. This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills for both working with the residents as well as interdepartmentally. This position also maintains professionalism as well as role model behavior at all times. Skills related to problem solving, time management, choices within limits, crisis prevention intervention, and verbal de-escalation are required.
