Lincoln Trail Behavioral Health System has a dedicated inpatient unit for adolescent females with acute psychiatric needs. The primary focus of the unit is treating adolescents seeking services for depression, trauma, and anxiety; and stabilization of suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, and self-mutilating behavior. The therapist serves as a key member of the treatment team providing direct clinical services in the form of individual, family, and group therapy. In addition, the therapist is responsible for completing psychosocial evaluations, developing and implementing master treatment plans, and working with the treatment team to provide appropriate discharges. The therapist also participates in patient care team meetings, working with the team to continuously develop improved programing for our patients. Strengths and qualities needed to successfully complete the job include: excellent communication, time management, organization, ability to multitask, and flexibility.
